Angkringan (derived from the Javanese 'angkring' which means sit back) is a push gerobag that sell a variety of foods and beverages commonly found in each side of the street in Central Java and Yogyakarta. Solo is known as stalls hic ("fine cuisine a la kampung") or wedangan. Gerobag regular angkringan covered with plastic tarps and can carry about 8 people buyers. Operates from late afternoon, he relied on the traditional lighting senthir, and also aided by the light of street lamps.
One of best angkringan in Ponorogo is Jabrix angkringan , it located in Jl. Juanda , in the left side of Hotel Juanda. Jabrix angkringan located near "Jalan Baru/Dalan anyar" or we can called "New Road" a.k.a Jl. Suromenggolo .
Food for sale includes rice cat, fried intestines satay (chicken), quail egg satay, chips and others. Drinks were sell , such as tea, juice, coffee, tape, ginger and milk. All sold at a very affordable price.
Although the price is cheap, but consumers shop is very varied. Starting from rickshaw drivers, construction workers, office workers, students, artists, even to officers and executives. Between buyers and sellers is often seen chatting with the relaxed atmosphere and amicably.
Angkringan also known as an egalitarian as varied buyers who come without distinction of social class or racial intolerance. They enjoy free food while chatting late into the night even knew each other about different things or sometimes discussing serious topics. The price is cheap and relaxing place that makes angkringan very popular in the city as a haven to repel hungry or just unwind.
